 Adopt-A-Portrait
Who inspires you? Who is your personal hero? The National Portrait Gallery is offering donors an opportunity to Adopt-A-Portrait from a select list of works on exhibit. More than 300 portraits in the Portrait Gallery’s reopening exhibitions are available to view and adopt when you join the Adopt-A-Portrait program. Adoptions are available for $10,000 payable over five years.

Donor Recognition and Benefits
When on display, adopted portraits will have separate recognition labels with the donors’ choice of their own name or one they designate. Also patrons will be recognized in selected National Portrait Gallery and Smithsonian publications. Recognition will last up to five years.

Adopt-A-Portrait patrons will be invited to an exclusive series of events, including behind-the-scenes tours, exhibition opening receptions, curatorial lectures, and private previews.
In addition, donors will be recognized in the Smithsonian annual report and will be enrolled in the National Portrait Gallery Director’s Circle. Benefits include:
- An exhibition publication
- Personalized mailings from the director
- Invitations to symposia, lectures, and special events
- Mailings of Profile magazine
